In September 2017 “Roberto’s International Network AS” (in short RIN)was created to assist Norwegian and/or European companies to establishing themselves abroad or expanding there horizon if already present in overseas markets.

The RIN’s field of expertise is quite broad, from infrastructure to energy sector, mining or commercial business while the connections are from governmental institutions to private sector.

In almost 50 years of carrier and travelling for different companies, we have developed a net of contacts in many countries and in 3 continents on all level, from the engineering and managers at the local governmental utilities, to the most senior positions in the Ministerial and Presidential level. We have a personal relationship with few Ministers in Africa and Asian countries.

First RIN’s act   was to sign a Consultant agreement with Jacobsen Elektro AS were we commit 50% of our time for the 2018 to insure a continuation and smooth the transition for new employed sales directors and to follow up the portfolio left behind.

Almost 50 years of experience of which, the last 20 years, in Marketing, Project developer and Sales.

Experience in Project Management, Tendering and Designing, Supervision, Constructions, Quality Control (with both, American and British Standard Specification) and Administration of large civil projects, as either Team Leader or Project Manager. Employed by private international companies, worked for different government and non-governmental institutions. Experience obtained in 3 continents and different countries, namely:

  • Europe: Italy, Germany, Norway, Albania, Kosovo, Moldova and others
  • South East Asia: Philippines, Myanmar, Cambodia and Vietnam
  • Asia: Nepal, Bangladesh, Mongolia and Armenia
  • East/south Africa: Kenya, Tanzania, Mozambique, Rwanda, Somalia and Ethiopia
  • West Africa: Ghana, Senegal, Togo, Benin, Equatorial Guinea and others

The projects were financed by International Development Agencies, such as: the World Bank (WD), the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD), the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the Italian Co-operation Agency (DGDC), the Overseas Economic Co-operation Fund (OECF) of Japan, the Norwegian Co-operation Agency (NORAD) or European Guarantee Institutes (GIEK – SACE – Hermes – Finnvera etc.)

Working and travelling has given the undersigned, the opportunity to become closely acquitted with many different people, cultures and traditions. In all this years I have developed contacts with high level officers from different ministries and presidential offices in all the country where I have been working. My network of contacts expands throughout West and East Africa, from the Balkan to Asia and Far East Asia.

01st October 1999 to 31at December 2017 : Vice President International Sales

Director of the Transmission and Distribution Department first, than Vice President International Sales for “Jacobsen Elektro as” based in Lier, Norway, main field of operations are projects developer, marketing and sales; I was following also the financial arrangement necessary for the development of the various projects, with local institutions (GIEK, NORAD, Eksportkreditt etc.) and international financial Banks. In a case of tender projects, the preparation, submission and eventual negotiations, was part of my responsibility.

“Jacobsen Elektro AS”(JEL) is a well-established company since 1891.

The company is a manufacturer of equipment for the electrical power industry, but is also participating in tenders and/or develop project for energy transmission and distribution system; as an EPC contractor, realize the project on torn key basis. 01st October 1998 to 30th September 1999 : Project Management / Expert, Ghana

Project Management Expert for C.P.C. Inc. (Construction Project Consultants Inc.) of Tokyo Japan on ‘Technical Co-operation Project Phase II’ in Ghana, West Africa, in collaboration with Ghana Highway Authority (GHA) under the Ministry of Roads and Transport (MRT). The objective of the project is to make GHA lean and efficiency oriented Road Agency, which maintains and manages its Trunk Road Network at optimal cost.

The project was entirely funded by the OECF (Overseas Economic Co-operation Fund of Japan) with an estimated cost of US $ 5 million.

Team Leader/Resident Engineer for C.P.C. Inc. (Construction Project Consultants Inc.) of Tokyo

JAPAN on the “Tana Basin Road Project” located in Kenya between the Towns of Garissa and Malindi on the north-eastern section of the Coastal Province, partly funded by the OECF (Overseas Economic Cooperation Fund of Japan), with an estimated construction cost of US$ 135 million.

 

01st October 1990 to 30th April 1994:Team Leader, Bangladesh

With SAUTI Srl Consulting Engineering of Rome, Italy, as Head of Mission I was looking in marketing the company in Bangladesh and as Project Manager I was in charge of the supervision on the “Dinajpur-Panchagarh Road Project”. Project entirely financed by the Italian Cooperation Agency (with a construction cost of US$ 30 Million).

 

11th November 1989 to 17th September 1990: Chief Resident Engineer, Nepal

Chief Resident Engineer for Renardet S.A. of Geneva , S.A., Switzerland on the “Feeder Roads Project “, located in Nepal, partly funded by the Asian Development Bank, with a Construction cost of US$ 12 million. The scope of the project involved the new construction and supervision of 220 km of DBST surfaced road pavement; 85 km of gravelled natural secondary road.

 

01st July 1984 to 10th November 1989: General Manager, Italy

General Manager of C.H.S. Srl, a firm operating in the Region of Umbria (Italy) as concessionaire of Olivetti S.p.A. of Ivrea Italy. Farther to the duties and responsibilities of General Manager of the firm, was promoting, organising and implementing seminars for Engineer such as: CARTOGRAPHY – TOPOGRAPHY – ROAD PROGRAM – HYDRAULICS

 

12th July 1982 to 30th June 1984: Asst. Project Manager, Philippines

Assistant Project Manager/Senior Highway Engineer for Japan Overseas consultants Co. Ltd. of Japan on the Mindanao Secondary and Feeder Roads Project, Philippines. Partly funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) with a construction cost of over US$ 30 million.

 

15th April 1982 to 10th July 1982: Deputy Chief Engineer, Philippines

Deputy Chief Engineer for SAUTI/RENARDET I.C.E., Geneva, Switzerland, on the Mindoro Integrated Project located in Mindoro island. Project was part-funded by the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) with a construction cost of US$ 38 million.

 

10th June 1975 to 14th April 1982: Res. Eng. / Chief Quantity Eng., Philippines

Resident Engineer/Chief Quantity Engineer with SAUTI/ICE Consulting Engineers, responsible for the construction supervision of the Iligan-Cagayan de Oro-Butuan Road Project located in North Mindanao, the Philippines. Partly funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) with a completed construction cost of US$ 102 million.

 

17th January 1974 to 09th June 1975: Chief Quantity Surveyor, Philippines

Chief Quantity Surveyor, with SAUTI/ICE, Consulting Engineers on the construction supervision of the Cotabato-Digos road Project located in Mindanao, the Philippines.The project was part-funded by the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) with a completed construction cost of US$ 15 million.

 

20th January 1973 to 31st December 1973 :Quantity Engineer, Germany

Quantity Engineer with S.A.I.P.E.M. Contractor of Italy on the construction of 910 mm diameter steel pipe line for natural gas with pumping stations from West Germany to Italy for an overall distance of 756 km with a completed construction cost of US$ 25 million.

 

12th January 1971 to 31st December 1972:Construction Engineer,Italy

Assistant Construction Engineer and later Construction Engineer with Contractor S.A.S. (Societa’ Autostrade e Strade S.p.A.), Rome Italy for three (3) projects in Italy namely:

I. Construction of Expressway by-pass to the city of Lecco at cost of US$ 14 million.

II. Construction of Expressway by-pass to the city of Perugia at cost of US$ 12 million.

III. Construction of Expressway by-pass to the city of Pinerolo at cost of US$ 15 million.

 

29th October 1969 to 10th January 1971: Paratrooper, Military Service, Italy

Enlisted by the Italian Army under the airborne ‘Comando Brigata Paracadutisti «Folgore»’

Qualified as paratrooper the 7th January 1970 at SMIPAR (Military School) of Pisa.

Obtained the qualification in radio and wireless communications at VI Btg. Tras. Di C.A.

Dismissed after a compulsory period of service with the ‘Silver Wings’ of honour.
